Ridgedale Board to Appoint Next Superintendent on Monday

RIDGEDALE BOARD TO APPOINT NEXT SUPERINTENDENT ON MONDAY

The Ridgedale Local Board of Education intends to appoint Erika S. Bower of Marion as its next Superintendent Monday evening at its regular Board meeting, Board President Ryan Cook has announced.

Currently the Chief Academic Officer of the North Union Local Schools, Bower formerly was a principal, teacher, and literacy coach in Marion City and Elgin Local Schools. At one time, she was a substitute teacher in the Ridgedale district.

Bower holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Concordia University and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College and has completed additional coursework at Ashland University and Miami University.

Cook said that she was selected following a final interview with the Board and an informal meeting with staff and community members held Wednesday evening.

“The Board was very impressed with the credentials of all applicants for our Superintendent’s position, but we believe after listening to our students, staff, and community, that Dr. Bower’s qualifications and background make her a great fit for Ridgedale and our community,” Cook added.

Bower will assume office this summer to replace Robert Britton, who is retiring after serving as the Ridgedale Superintendent for the past fourteen years.
