Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through our cornerstones of learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
We finished the week strong after a rollercoaster of weather! Please be sure that you contact your child’s building if you did not receive any calls this week through our one call system. This is a critical system that allows us to quickly alert families when there are delays, cancellations, and any other emergencies. This is also a good time to remind families that if you have a phone number or address change, contact your child’s building to ensure these updates are made promptly.
This week, we have numerous events, but be sure to check social media and our website for any changes due to weather! On Monday, bowling is at Colonial Lanes, jr. high boys’ basketball is at North Baltimore, and high school girls’ basketball plays at home. On Tuesday, bowling is at Cooper’s Bowl, and high school boys’ basketball is at home with a celebration of Family Appreciation Night. Not only will the Dribble Club be performing, but there will be drawings for gift certificates, Ridgedale magnets, and a photo booth for Ridgedale families! Check out the Hidden in Plain Sight programming sponsored by the Marion Crawford Prevention Programming, which will be held in the library. This is a drug awareness program for parents and guardians that shows dangerous items that can be “hidden” in plain sight. On Wednesday, high school girls’ basketball is at Fredericktown, jr. high boys’ basketball plays at home, and freshmen boys’ basketball plays at Grandview Heights. On Thursday, jr. high girls’ basketball plays at home, and high school girls’ basketball plays at North Baltimore. National Technical Honor Society members will be honored at Tri Rivers on Thursday as well. On Friday, we have our monthly Fueled Up Friday focusing on our Portrait of a Rocket competencies, celebrating PBIS, and more! High school bowling will compete at Victory Lanes, and high school boys’ basketball will play at home. On Saturday, high school wrestling competes at Ada, and JV basketball plays at home. If you have a child ages 5-12 who would like to play youth softball or baseball, sign ups are on Sunday, February 2 from 6-7pm and Sunday, February 9 from 1:30-3:30pm. Please contact Brad Pottkotter with any questions.
Would you like to be a part of our small district doing big things? We are still actively searching for bus drivers to drive regular routes! We can train you for this certification. We are also hiring subs for teachers, food services, custodians, secretaries, aides, and bus drivers. You can apply on our website.
Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Have a great week, and, as always, go, Rockets!
