Weekly Update 1-12-25

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through our cornerstones of learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

In January, we are continuing to work on our Portrait of a Rocket competencies. This month, we are focusing on critical thinking. Critical thinking is focused on improving thinking by being rational, open-minded, and informed by evidence. Thinking critically helps with problem solving on a daily basis and is a life-long skill!

If your child is in grades 1-8, they are invited to participate in the Ridgedale High School Cheerleading Mini Camp! Forms can be found online. Be sure to get your form filled out by Monday, January 13 in order to guarantee a t-shirt, but forms and fees will be accepted up to the first day of camp, which is January 23! Mini cheerleaders will perform on Friday, January 31 at the varsity game!

This week, we have plenty of events for you to enjoy! On Monday, freshman boys’ basketball will take on Northmor at home, and jr. high girls’ basketball takes on USV at home. Would you like to be a part of our small district doing big things? We are still actively searching for bus drivers to drive regular routes! We can train you for this certification. We are also hiring subs for teachers, food services, custodians, secretaries, aides, and bus drivers. You can apply on our website.

Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Have a great week, and, as always, go, Rockets!
