12-15-24 Ridgedale Weekly Update

Good afternoon, Rocket families!

This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential through our cornerstones of learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.

Don’t forget…winter break is coming! This Friday, December 20 is our last day of school until Monday, January 6, 2025. We hope you enjoy time with your family during break! If you are looking for something to do this week, there are many opportunities once again. The elementary is celebrating Right to Read Week with many events throughout the school day for students. CCP Night is tomorrow, so if you have a student who is in grades 7-11 and is interested in taking College Credit Plus in the 2025-26 school year, be sure you attend this at 7pm. The jr. high girls’ basketball team plays at Ridgemont, and jr. high boys’ basketball team plays Ridgemont at home on Monday as well. The regular Board of Education meeting is at 5:30pm. On Tuesday, high school bowling competes at Cooper’s Bowl, the high school girls’ basketball plays Bucyrus at home, and the high school boys’ basketball plays at Vanlue. There is a literacy night for students in grades PK-8 from 4:30-6pm in the elementary on Wednesday. Join us for a night of fun and learning! Then, stay for the jr/sr high band and choir concert at 7pm. On Thursday, the high school girls’ basketball team plays Ridgemont at home, and high school bowling takes on River Valley at Cooper’s Bowl. The high school boys’ basketball team plays at Ridgemont on Friday. Saturday has high school bowling competing at Suburban Lanes in Bucyrus, and jr. high wrestling at River Valley.

The end of the 2nd quarter is Friday, January 10. Be sure to continue to check your child’s grades on PowerSchool.

In order to enjoy time with your family, the next one call will not be until January 5, 2025, just before we return to school! Please check our website, Google Calendar, and social media for all of the events going on during break. If you need something over break, remember you can contact administrators via email and phone. You can also use the Safer Ohio Tip LIne by clicking on the link on our website or calling/texting 844-SAFER-OH.

Would you like to be a part of our small district doing big things? We are actively searching for bus drivers to drive regular routes! We can train you for this certification. We are also hiring subs for teachers, food services, custodians, secretaries, aides, and bus drivers. You can apply on our website.

Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Have a great week, and, as always, go, Rockets!
