Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility.
You may have noticed the state report cards came out. We are proud that our district received 3.5 stars overall, which means we are meeting state standards. If you dig a little deeper into the report card, you will notice that, once again, we received 5 stars in our graduation rates. This means we significantly exceed state standards. Graduation is a critical accomplishment for our students as it provides a springboard for their future! We continue to promote the 4 E’s, including employment, enlistment, entrepreneurship, and/or enrollment into 2 year or 4 year colleges. In addition to the 4 E’s, we are focusing on our Portrait of a Rocket to build communication skills, integrity, responsibility, critical thinking, leadership, and empathy. We will share information about these competencies throughout the year!
This week, we have many events where you can support our Rocket community. On Monday, the OHSAA Sectional Golf takes place at Denison, and junior high volleyball plays Cory Rawson at home. There is also an athletic and music booster meeting. Picture day for grades 6-11 is on Tuesday starting at 8am. This includes our students who are attending Tri Rivers who may come earlier. Be sure to dress your best! Cross country competes at the Fredericktown Invite, high school volleyball takes on North Baltimore at home, and junior high volleyball plays Perry at home on Tuesday as well. On Wednesday, junior high volleyball plays at Bucyrus. High school volleyball plays at Cory Rawson, and junior high football plays at Hardin Northern on Thursday. On Friday, high school football takes on Hardin Northern at home, and it is youth night. Cross country competes at Buckeye Central on Saturday.
Mark your calendars for fall conferences that will take place on Monday, September 30, from 11am-7pm, and Wednesday, October 2, from 4-6:30pm. There is no school on September 30 due to conferences. Be sure to get signed up to meet with your child’s teachers to support their education. Remember, you can check your child’s grades at any time using PowerSchool. If you are unable to log into PowerSchool, contact your child’s building.
We are proud to be a small district doing big things, so be sure to keep up to date with all of the news and events by using our website, Google Calendar, and social media.
We are actively searching for bus drivers to drive regular routes. We can train you for this certification! We are also hiring subs for teachers, food services, custodians, secretaries, aides, and bus drivers. You can apply on our website.
Thank you for all you do for our students, our staff, and our community! Have a great week, and, as always, go, Rockets!
