Good afternoon, Rocket families!
This is Erika Bower, Superintendent of Ridgedale Local Schools, where our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential while focusing on learning, safety, partnerships with our community, and fiscal responsibility. As part of our safety cornerstone, I am happy to share that our security camera and access control upgrades are getting closer and closer to completion! These projects were made possible through the safety grant we received! I also wanted to take a minute to remind families and students alike of our Student Safety Portal. This can be found on the app or our website. It provides an opportunity for reporting safety concerns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As another safety reminder, please drive slowly and cautiously in our parking lots. Our campus is busy with activities and improvements!
Ohio State Testing for students in grades 3 and up is continuing. 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th graders will take Part I of the ELA test on Tuesday, April 18 and Part II of the ELA test on Wednesday, April 19. Students in English II will take their ELA test on Thursday, April 20. Students need to make sure they have their chromebooks charged and with them, especially on testing days. Please check the calendar on our website for all testing dates.
This Friday, we will be hosting another Career Cafe for students in the jr/sr high. It will be focused on logistics and distribution. Students are invited based on their aptitudes. If we do not fill up all of our spaces, students who are interested in learning about careers in these fields are able to sign up. Please encourage your child to take advantage of these opportunities!
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 1st through May 5th. Principal Appreciation Day is May 1st. School Lunch Hero Day is on May 5th. School Nurse Day is on May 10th. We sure appreciate ALL of our staff every day!
The 8th Grade Breakfast will take place on May 17 from 8am-11am in the jr/sr high gym.
Preschool graduation will be on May 18 for all preschoolers. They will meet in the PK room at noon with a graduation start time of 12:15pm. This will be an exciting day as our preschoolers will join our seniors for a clap out parade.
Preschool registration is still available for the 2023-24 school year. Information and applications are available on our website.
