🚀 Week 4: Rockets Are Moving!

Four weeks in, and the Rockets are building momentum! Across our classrooms, activities, athletic fields, and community, students and staff continue to make great things happen at Ridgedale. We remain focused on our mission to Empower Students to Reach Their Full Potential while living out our four cornerstones: Learning, Safety, Community Partnerships, and Fiscal Responsibility.

🚀 POWER Hours Launches Tuesday!

On Tuesday, we officially launch POWER Hours, our before- and after-school program made possible through the 21st Century Grant.

POWER Hours is FREE and open to ALL Ridgedale students in grades K–12. The program provides students with additional opportunities for academic support, enrichment, and activities designed to help them succeed.

Morning POWER Hours:
Monday–Friday | 6:45–8:00 a.m.

Afternoon POWER Hours:
Monday–Thursday | 3:00–5:15 p.m.

We strongly encourage POWER Hours for students who may benefit from additional support in:

  • 📚 Math or Reading based on assessment results and/or grades

  • 💙 Social-emotional or behavioral support

  • 📅 Attendance and school engagement

The program is completely free. Parents/guardians are responsible for providing on-time transportation. Students are expected to attend daily unless they have another previously scheduled activity.

The more consistently students participate, the greater the opportunity for growth and success! If you have not yet enrolled your child in POWER Hours, now is a great time to get started!

🏈 Friday Night Lights on Our New Field!

This Friday, the Rockets are home under the lights as we take the field on our newly renovated football field!

We are incredibly grateful to the many community members who donated their time, energy, and talents to help make this project possible. This field is a great example of what can happen when a community comes together to support its students.

A special thank-you to our field helpers:

Wes Roberts, Matt Strine, Sean Starner, Tim Swisher, Phil Lee, Dennis Eisele, Kyle Rose, Tiffany Rose, Mandy Roberts, Caleb Swisher, Asch Tilley, Kevin Tilley, Preston Roberts, Jordan Blankenship, Brad Pottkotter, Cathy Hamilton, Erika Bower, John Johnson, Chris Dingus, Tacy Courtright, Cherie Leach, and our entire Board of Education.

We appreciate each of you for helping make this project a reality!

🍎 Safety City

This week, it’s time for Mrs. Curren’s kindergarten classes to head to Safety City each morning.

What a great hands-on opportunity for our youngest Rockets to learn about making safe choices, navigating their community, and building important life skills. We are excited to see all they learn throughout the week!

🚀 Small School. Big Things.

Week after week, we are reminded that being a Rocket is about more than what happens in a classroom or on a playing field. It is about learning, growing, showing up for one another, and taking advantage of opportunities to reach our full potential.

Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for the energy and support you continue to bring to Ridgedale. There are always great things happening at Ridgedale!

Let’s keep the momentum going and make it another great week to be a Rocket! 🚀
